De ce să vizitezi Moldova?

For each of us, travelling is one of the priorities because it is the most pleasant way to free yourself from stress, enjoy moments without worries, discover new people and cultures, recharge with positive energy...

The point is that you do not have to choose a sophisticated destination you cannot afford. Often, the ideal destination is found in simple places. The Republic of Moldova is one of them, a country with a (still) underdeveloped tourism, but with a culture and traditions that will certainly not leave you indifferent.

Moldova preserves in itself the history of times, just as they were. Some would say it is antique, others - that it is Soviet, but the truth is one: it is an entire museum of the past, it is a tourist destination with many beautiful places expecting to be discovered.

What is so special about this country?

1. One of the oldest and most impressive places would be "100 Mounds." Being located near the Prut River on an area of 1,600 hectares, it is made up of a chain of ideally shaped hills. According to some experts, these are the marine deposits of the Sarmatian Sea, which once covered this land. According to the inhabitants, they would still shelter the graves of the Geto-Dacians, the ancestors of this country. Surely, this destination should be in the list of priorities.

2. The Orhei Vechi Archaeological Complex is an overlap of different eras with the remains of two medieval towns, Orhei and Seihr al-Gedid. Located in a rocky area, the depth of which can be up to 200 m, you will discover caves in which the spirit of the first human settlements can be found. In the cave monastery "The Dormition of the Mother of God”, you will be filled with positive energy and inner peace. The panorama of the whole town, crossed by the River Reut, will surely charge your batteries.

3. "Emil Racovita" cave represents a series of galleries with three floors of labyrinths made of fine rock of different colours: blue, red, white, green, black. They have a length of 90 km and rank first in the top of the largest caves in Europe.

4. Moldova Wineries. One of the oldest wineries is "Chateau Purcari", founded in 1827. Purcari black wine is part of Queen Elizabeth's preferences and is indispensable for the banquets she organizes each year.
One of the biggest attractions for tourists is the underground wine town of Cricova. At a depth of 90 m and with an area of 200 km, an impressive collection of 10 million bottles of wine is stored. Also in this small town, you will find a cinema, banquet rooms, a museum of Moldovan wine, galleries with the oldest and finest wines.

5. Soroca Fortress is a unique medieval monument of the Republic of Moldova, preserved exactly as the first artisans designed it. Being situated on the bank of the Nistru River, it was erected by Stephen the Great in the second quarter of the 15th century. Once you step into the courtyard of the fortress, you will have a close connection with history, and in the rooms, you will discover the Middle Age occupations. From the top of the wall, you will admire the Nistru River, the town of Soroca and the famous neighbourhood of the Gypsies.

Moldova is a country that is worth exploring all over. People are the most valuable asset of the country, because wherever you go, any place you visit, it is the people who have invested emotions and effort to create those surroundings.

Have a nice trip!
